
Rick J. Schmidt, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Schmidt was born in Sanford, Florida and raised in Tampa. He received his bachelor’s degree and medical degree from Emory University. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He subsequently completed fellowships in endocrine surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Broadgreen Hospital in Liverpool, England.
Dr. Schmidt is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Endocrinology. He is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the American Society for Gastrointenstinal Endoscopy.
